8. Enablers

Assessment Statement

“The business unit explicitly identifies and acquires the Enablers — the tools, infrastructure, and capabilities — needed to realize its transformative goals.”

Interpretation

This assessment evaluates the extent to which the business unit identifies and secures the enablers — such as tools, infrastructure, systems, technologies, partnerships, and human capabilities — needed to realize its transformative goals. Enablers act as the foundation for moving vision into reality.

This statement addresses:

  1. Strategic Foresight: Are the enablers clearly identified based on long-term vision?

  2. Resource Commitment: Are investments made to acquire or develop them?

  3. Execution Capacity: Do these enablers actually support transformational progress?

Example: AWS’s Multi-Billion-Dollar AI Infrastructure Investment, Score: 5 – Strongly Agree

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has explicitly identified and aggressively invested in the enablers — such as cloud servers, specialized chips, data-center regions, AI training platforms, and high-skilled talent — to support its transformative growth in artificial intelligence.
